WOW! July 27, 2022 and the Mega Millions lottery is up to $1.02 Billions dollars! No one hit the jackpot on July 26, 2022 which was sitting at $830 million dollars which caused the Jackpot to increase for the July 29, 2022 drawing. Are you going to play?

A lot of us have often had that thought, what if I win? I sure know I have, and I think about it a lot, so much so that I have everything planned out as to what I would do. I would like to know what you would do, leave a comment below and let me know.

Often dreaming of big houses and fancy cars, helicopters, private jets, champagne parties, yachts, gold jewelry, the list goes on and on and this is what most people dream of. The younger me thought all of those things were exactly what I would do if I won the lottery, but the older more mature me realized that I need to do so much more.

The older me has realized that in order to have all of the things I listed above, that I have to put businesses in place to make that money to pay for those things. Hear me out, yes I will build a house and probably buy the wife a new car but that is to be expected, however the house will not be a mansion with 16 rooms and 18 bathrooms and a 4 acre pool… No. we don’t need all of that, maybe a 4 bedroom with an office and a really cool basement, in the craftsman country style that we like, sitting on a couple hundred acres, that is what we dream of. But to have a house that will echo because we don’t like people and none of the rooms will ever get used is a bit ridiculous.

So, what will we do to get the cars, and the yachts you ask? I mentioned businesses, I have vowed to myself that I will own businesses such as real estate that will pay for my life from that point forward, the lottery winnings would just be a way to jump start the initial investment. Take the winnings, buy properties everywhere you desire, rent them out, Air B&B them, VRBO, and make those properties pay you. This money will be what you use to purchase your luxury items after you get your initial investment. Think smart with your money and set it up long term so that NO ONE in your family will ever have to work again. Let the business and the property be passed down so that they can live. Teach them how to work and manage the money from the business and the winnings without going broke slinging money everywhere.

This is one of the best ideas to set your future generations up for success and to keep them from struggling like you had to. Let’s face it, you will go out and splurge, I know I will, new clothing, pay off every ounce of debt that I have, pay off family debt, donate to the children’s hospital, buy a few “toys” like dirt bikes, ATVs, etc. and you should allow yourself that, I mean after all you did just win the Mega Millions Jackpot and you will need that release, but set yourself a limit. The limit could be a million dollars or two million dollars, I mean especially if you bring home somewhere in the ball park of 400 million dollars, two million is not to much to set aside for impulse spending, but set that limit and stick to it to allow yourself to experience not looking at a price tag and just buy whatever makes you happy but keep in mind, make sure it is a one time purchase and not something you have to pay taxes on every year!
